About Katie
Katie Anawalt, MS, CCC-SLP, ATS, is a speech-language pathologist and assistive technology specialist who has been working with individuals with complex communication needs for over 20 years, advocating for access to and achievement of autonomous and independent multimodal communication. She specializes in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and has worked in schools, homes, and clinical settings nationally and internationally. She is Level 4 certified in Rapid Prompting Method (RPM), having studied under its creator, Soma Mukhopadhyay, since 2004. In 2018, she founded The Anawalt Practice (TAP) in Los Angeles. She is trained in PROMPT, Dynamic Tactile and Temporal Cueing (DTTC), TalkTools, natural language acquisition (NLA), and comprehensive literacy-based instruction and AAC.
